Montpelier Villa FC

And a whole new era at Villa begins.

Your new look committee...

Kevin Rowe
Kev's love for and importance to the club is as strong as ever, but with increasingly less and less time to commit to the cause a Presidential role will suit our requirements perfectly. Kev is and will remain pivotal in our continued strive for improvement, funding and a spokesman for the club and an ambassador for our Villa community projects.

Gary Pleece
The old chairman returns... Gary has been chairman of the Youth section for the last few years, concentrating on our wonderfully impressive Academy. With that success we have now decided to bring both sections together, and it makes perfect sense for club founder Gary to Chair the newly combined club.

Matt Harrison
We welcome into the board current player Matt, who has a tough task replacing Nic Eadie, but has experience of reporting, admin and finances, which makes him the perfect fit for the role.

Skip Kelly
Another player to come into the board, Skip replaces Trev Wilson and was first in the queue to offer his services when the role became available, his enthusiasm and organisation skills makes him the perfect club Secretary.

Fixtures Secretary
Ryan Walton
Yet another player appointed...absolutely our first choice for the role, a wealth of experience and knowledge in the county league along with many years Secretary experience, running the hugely successful White Hart FC in the Sunday League AND also an ex committee member of the Lewes & District Sunday Football League.

Director of Football
Kev Green
Along with his role as Head Coach Kev also fronts up the coaching across all age groups and our CIC projects, as well providing a link, through coaching, to Sussex University. The role rightly suits Kev's importance to this club, on and off the field.

Director of Football: Women and Girls
Charlotte Smyrk
Along with the running of our successful Villa Womens team, and with ever growing interest in the Women's game, Charlotte's vision matches our own in growing the game for Women and Girls both in the community and at Villa. With Charlotte's help we aim to bring more Women and Girls teams to the club, along with building the brand an reputation of both the club and womens football.

Social Media Manager
Josh Tomkins
With the progression of the club building the brand is integral to the club. Bringing news on our endevours on and off the field to our existing and ever growing following. To that end a specialist on all social platforms was required and Josh being a true Villan is up to the challenge of growing our reputation and providing news to the people.

Admin and Operations
Gary Butterworth-Hayes
As part of our VYD CIC Gary's role will include club & CIC admin and organisation between the two. This also brings together his role as club referee assistant.

First Team Manager
Simon Whitney
No change here as stability on the pitch starts to set in. Simon's successful two years in charge has brought improvement on the pitch in each season, improving on points and postions every time. We now have a side that has potential to challenge, despite money and pitch constraints. Hopefully with the new pitch, committee structure and club setup we can kick on even further.

Reserve Team Manager
David Southon
David was a fantastic appointment last term somehow guiding the second team from rock bottom to safety having started with the third team, he also brought in lots of players who have become integral to the club.
David will be assistant by Paul Whitmore who was last seasons third team manager.

Under 23s Team Manager
Kev Green
The new 23s will play in the mind cup and will give our quality youngsters the perfect step into more senior football, blending with lads ightly older. Also, given our partnsrships with the university this should also give students the perfect intro to the club and Sussex County football. The coaching team will also include first team manager Simon Whitney and 18s assistant Jay Green.

Under 18s (SCFL) Team Manager
Kev Green
What a first season in the SCFL for this group of first years. Finishing runners up and just falling short of a cup in the semi. So much to build on and so much potential. Kev has done a wonderful job here with no less than 9 of the lads being introduced into first team football. These boys (if we can keep them!?) Are the future of the club. Assistant by th Jay Green these two have a wonderful chemistry and relationship with the team.

Under 18s (MSFL) Team Manager
Chris McClean
We have a brand new team to add to the ever expanding quality of the club. Chris and his group of promising young lads had plenty of options moving from 16s to 18s, so its a testament to the club, its structure and plans for the future that they chose us. And we look forwards to working with them and providing a clear yet managed pathway into adult football and adult life in general.

Women's Team Manager
Charlotte Smyrk
Charlotte has worked wonders with this group, starting it from scratch and competing hard on all fronts and getting nearer and nearer to some deserved silverware. Charlotte continues to add members, and sponsors, to the club and is a real role model to young girls getting into the game. Charlotte and her team are a testiment to the ever growing womens game and with people like her you can see why the womens game is booming and finally getring the recognition and coverage it deserves.

Vets Team Manager
Geoff Hunt
Geoff's successful team will push agaim for silverware this team. Geoff has done a great job and he has a great bunch or lads on board. More of the same from these guys and very much self sufficient with plenty of sponsorships coming from this section of the club.

We're all very excited to see what this new look, young and positive board of committee have in store for us. Already seeing lots of fresh new ideas for the club.
The future is most definitely bright.
