A comfortable 3 points for the Visitors against a Hurst side that have had a tough season. The game was played at St Francis Rangers FC in Haywards Heath thanks to the Council driving a tractor across the Fairfield pitch during the muddy spell. An action from which the pitch has yet to recover.
Just the one goal in the first half thanks, of course, to Nick Boutal but it could / should have been many more. This is something that we must improve for next season if we have a serious desire to be challenging for honours.
Goals from Sam Terry, Dave MacNeill and a cracker from Shaun Jepson in the second period secured the game. Hurst for their part, having called in favours the night before from players who hadn't played for a while, finished the game with ten men after a string of pulled muscles.
Villa's final game of the season is on Bank Holiday Monday at AFC Roffey Club, 2pm ko.
