Another dazzling day dawned deep in the Downs as we welcomed a posse of friendly footballers and their spectators to our amazing home ground. As if inspired by the beautiful surroundings the youngsters put on a sparkling display of free flowing football, played in a wonderful spirit of respect and mutual admiration.
Everyone enjoyed a Hawks display of adventurous attacking football - showing off some of the best passing and finishing seen by the Villa faithful so far this season.
But not to be outdone the home team was having its own very special soccer party, playing with real verve and passion as they soaked up the pressure as well as the unseasonal sunshine. Attack, defence, midfield, goalkeepers, everyone let their imagination run riot and showed just how much they love to be set free with a football at their feet.
There were just too many great displays to mention any of them individually - all four quarters featured stand out moments. Despite facing waves of high tempo Hawks attacks the mighty Villans never faltered and held their heads high for every minute of the match.
Several of the children and parents know each other well so it was great to see everyone running around together at the end. It was a fitting end to a bumper crop of goalmouth action and a great way to round off a sun-soaked festival of football.
And finally... despite the quality on show by every Villa player Maj had the impossible task of picking out a Man of the Match. It was too close to call so this week the MMoM is shared by Louis, Kai and sweeper keeper extraordinaire Callum.
